Gangwon-do Province — A province of North Korea, located in the central eastern area of the Korean Peninsula, where many mountains including Geumgangsan Mountain are located; it faces Gangwon-do, or Gangwon Province, of South Korea across the demarcation line; a major producer of corn, wheat, barley, beans, potatoes, etc.; its major cities are Wonsan and Muncheon.
